He was also in The Killing's drama series. In the following years, he was on the show in Borgen III and Those Who Kill as well as Those Who Kill. Both were critically recognized Danish drama series. He also played a lead role in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer, Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television series House of Cards, he was the president of Russia. In 2018, he received an International Emmy Award for his part in the character in the Danish TV drama Herrensveje. It was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019.
